During March and April we participated in Lent Event, raising money for some of the poorest in our world. During worship and a weekly conversation group we heard the stories of these people and their communities, giving voice to the voiceless as we also give our money. We are continuing to discern how we can further support our neighbours in situations of need, with our prayers and practical support.
Blokes in the Shed meet every Wednesday from 9.30am to 12 noon to refurbish bicycles for donation to people in need. Contact Blackwood Uniting Church for more information 8278 7699.
We have been raising money for the Sunrise Orphanage in Cambodia since 1993.
We support the chaplaincy at Belair Primary School as part of the Mitcham Hills Inter Church Council.
Wrap with Love blankets winter 2011
Throughout the year there are numerous donations to the Wesley Mission and other groups.
We support the Wrap with Love program making blankets for the homeless and those in need overseas.
